KTP Hack is a philanthropic hackathon that provides students a way design, build, and present creative solutions. 100% of proceeds raised from ticket and merch sales will go to our philanthropy, The Franklin Zhang Initiative. More information can be found at our website here

Requirements

Projects must be built during the official hacking period (8:00 PM Friday – 8:00 PM Saturday).

All submissions must include:

  • A GitHub repository containing the full source code.

  • A 3-minute demo video showcasing the project and its functionality.

  • A brief Devpost submission description explaining what the project does, the technology used, and how it relates to the theme.

Submissions are due by Saturday, November 15th at 8:00 PM on Devpost. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Judging Criteria

  • Relevance to Theme
    1-2 Points : Weak or unclear connection to safety. 3-4 Points : Addresses safety but in a limited or indirect way. 5 Points : Strongly aligns with safety and clearly improves it.
  • Impact & Usefulness
    1-2 Points : Minimal real-world value or impractical. 3-4 Points : Some real-world use; moderate impact. 5 Points : Highly impactful, practical, and scalable solution.
  • Technical Implementation
    1-2 Points : Basic prototype; little depth or incomplete. 3-4 Points : Functional with moderate complexity and reliability. 5 Points : Technically impressive, well-structured, and robust.
  • Creativity & Innovation
    1-2 Points : Generic idea; little innovation. 3-4 Points : Some unique aspects or clever implementation. 5 Points : Distinctly original and innovative.
  • Presentation & Polish
